The second woman to win the nomination of a major party in American history was up against the might of a highly organized group of technologically savvy, insanely corrupt and feckless men taking full advantage of the current economic and political climate, which many hold responsible for the sorry state of manhood in the Anglosphere.
And given the point to which these bad-faith actors have penetrated our lives, the heavy losses of the former Californian senator shouldn’t come as a surprise.
That these individuals are multi-millionaires and in some cases, billionaires, is completely irrelevant; all that mattered was their supreme objective, which was the complete dominance of menfolk in every sector of the polity.
And this has been especially evident since Trump’s inauguration a few months ago.
We have seen the 47th President successfully pressure the Romanian government to release Andrew Tate and his brother, from house arrest and allowed the convicted rapist —Connor McGregor —to use the White House lectern to denounce his country’s immigration policies and it is no stretch of the imagination to state that if the Irishman were American, there would be no criminal conviction hanging over his head.
We have also seen the beleaguered Mayor of New York, Eric Adams, being shielded from his corruption charge because he is chummy with the biggest bully on the block.
And this writer would be remiss if he didn’t point out that the world’s wealthiest man is having the time of his life, taking the axe to every government department, not to save money, but to consolidate power among his oligarch class.
And so we ask: are Andrew Tate, Connor McGregor, Russell Brand, Eric Adams and their patron saint, a sign of the times?
We live in the age of toxic masculinity and it has become the governing policy of the United States of America.
The pussy grabber is in charge and he is determined to bend the world to his will.
All of those women friendly policies to which we have become accustomed are now a thing of the past and by the time he leaves in January 2029, it will be profoundly, impossibly difficult to put things back together.
The Democrats are currently a rudderless and directionless bunch, who are are caught between toeing the line of the corporatists who own their leading players and the working class who do not have the financial clout to dictate the agenda.
The fight to rescue our collective societies is upon us and it is quite interesting that we do not fully appreciate the state of the destruction wrought by the MAGA Republicans.
One hopes that when folks eventually realize, there will be something left to salvage.
