Twas the month before Maga, when all through the House
Not a Bill will be passed without approval from the louse
The Senate reviews all Trump’s nominees with care
To oppose the unqualified, they don’t openly dare
We will have a budget, though we really came close
Trump demanded the debt ceiling be raised; he would boast
The money he’d give to the wealthy in a tax cut
The poor and middle class would get nothing. Say what?
Trump’s outsourced policy-making to Citizen Musk
The richest man in the world cares nothing about us
Cuts are coming to Social Security and Medicare
The rich will get richer while other cupboards are bare
Trump wants to make Canada the 51st state
He may take over the Panama Canal by next year on this date
He’s threatened to expand the war in the Mideast
If everyone doesn’t bow down to his whims, even the least
He wants to buy Greenland, though they’d never think to sell
He thought Finland was in Russia; his brain doesn’t work well
The brown and Black nations he doesn’t like much
“Shithole countries,” he called them; he’d prefer they were Dutch
It’s a month before MAGA, and it may not end well
Mass deportations will lead to shortages with nothing to sell
The fruits and vegetables you’ve come to expect will be there
Were picked largely by migrants you didn’t know were there
Construction will slow down, and roofs won’t get fixed
Essential workers won’t be part of the mix
When you check into a hotel, you’ll learn I suppose
There’ll be no housekeeping; the restaurant will be closed
The Department of Education will soon be shutting down
One Department of several he’ll close with a frown
The vaccines you’re used to will soon be no more
Polio, Mumps, and Rubella will be back with a roar
On January 20th, he’ll be back in the Oval
Accompanied by the wealthiest men he could cajole
With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Americans knew we had something to dread
White nationalism had resided in the White House before
This time, they took over and barred the front door
On Bannon, on Miller, on Hegseth, on Gabbard
On Kennedy Jr, the way forward will be haggard
It’s a month before MAGA has its turn in the light
How long before they notice the reality of their plight
It was never about you and improving your lot
You’ll pay more for groceries, cars, and homes you ain’t got
Trump’s tariffs will be announced with great fanfare and a roar
The result is for everything, you will pay more
They’ll come for your healthcare; its survival isn’t sure
School shootings are ignored, thoughts and prayers they won’t cure
It’s a month before MAGA, and all through the land
White supremacists are happy because they’ve got their man.
